(Editor’s Note: WEC Featherweight Champion Mike Brown will be periodically blogging his training camp adventures as he prepares to defend the title against Urijah Faber on June 7 at ARCO Arena.)

I’m just getting up from my nap and my body is feeling much better than it did when I wrote my last blog. That’s a good thing. We’ve got so many guys down here getting ready for fights that it’s intense. “Pitbull” (Thiago Alves) just started going hard for his fight at UFC 100 with Georges St-Pierre. JZ Cavalcante is gearing up for a fight too, and Mark Bocek is back in camp after earning a huge win at UFC 97. So needless to say, it’s no joke at American Top Team right now.

It’s a good time to be in the fight game. I saw that Anderson Silva and Forrest Griffin are going to fight at UFC 101 and that is going to be awesome. These guys are polar opposites. Anderson is a power, finesse fighter. Will he rush in and take Forrest out or will he stay on the outside and box? And Forrest, he’s always fun to watch. He’s grit and grind and I love that. I couldn’t tell you in the least bit who will win. All I know is that I’ll be watching.

I’m hosting a chat on Yahoo! Sports soon and I’m looking forward to it. I’m somewhat of a slow typer, but I will answer as many questions as I can. I know a lot of people are going to ask me about Urijah and things like that. They’ll ask how I’m motivating myself and what I’m doing to prepare.

Honestly, I train the same way whether it’s Urijah or some kid who is 0-7. I hate losing any fight. So I always go out there with something to prove. Losing is like getting arrested as soon as you turn 18. It’s on your permanent record forever. I work as hard as possible in camp so that I have no excuses come fight night. I only have a few, but I don’t want any more losses on my permanent record.

On a lighter note, I finally saw “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” on DVD a few nights ago. I was nervous because I heard mixed reviews. But I thought it was well-done. It was an interesting idea and I thought it turned out awesome.

My favorite line – and I joke with WEC PR manager Dave Sholler about this all the time – is when a man asks Benjamin Button, “How old are you?” To which he responds “Seveeen, but I look a lot olderrr.” Dave and I first saw that movie trailer when we were in Sacramento for a promotional tour at the ARCO Arena and that is our running joke with each other. It’s just too funny the way that Benjamin Button says “seven.” All in all, it was a great movie and worth checking out.

Lastly, I hate to disappoint, but I’m giving my home decorating skills a rest until after the fight. I’ve got everything in order in my new house and I’ll save the last project for after the fight. I need to do some painting and dry wall work in the garage, but that can wait. It’s time to focus my energy completely on June 7.
