Fighter Biography
Training: I wake up in the morning and do Kata #7 for 5 consecutive hours standing on a stump at the beach. I’ve learned to break bottles with my bare hands. My Kongi is almost perfect. I have almost captured the rooster.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I have wrestled my whole life and started training MMA just to get back in shape. Next thing I knew, I stopped everything else in life and dedicated everything to the sport.
What ranks and titles have you held? US All American Wrestler, TFA Bantamweight Champion, Valor Fight Night Champion, FCF Super Fight Champion
Do you have any heroes? Don Frye..cmon, how can that not be your hero..seriously..have you seen that mustache?
What is your favorite technique? I love all of it
What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? Fighting in the WEC is a dream come true. Everything I have worked towards in my life has been for this moment.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to Sierra JR college and the Art Institute of California Los Angeles
What was your job before you started fighting? Visual FX Artist and Graphic Designer
Most memorable professional fight (who, where, why)? Alvin Cacdac. We had a crazy 15 minute war that was unbelievable.
What was your most challenging professional fight (against who, when, what was the outcome)? This would still need to be the Alvin fight. Was on a big card and turned out to be fight of the night. Alvin was a real tough dude and I pulled out the decision win.
Did you compete in any other sport(s) at college or professional level (what sport, where, how long)? I wrestled in Jr High, High School and College
Who were your training partners for this fight? All of my guys at PKG in Los Angeles (Mac Danzig, Chris Sepulveda, Jeremy Umphries, Mozzy Arfa, Bryan Devany - man there’s a whole list more) We have also called in a big screen TV so we can study the Karate Kid.
Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent (what did you do differently/why)? I actually watched a lot of Kung Fu...but unfortunately I still can’t fly from sword to tree branch.
What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight? My motivation for this fight is to really show what hard work and dedication to something you love can do.
What is your favorite thing about this sport? I love the challenge. There's no better way find out more about yourself when you have someone staring across from you ready to punch your head in.
How long do you see yourself staying in this sport? Until the wheels fall off
