Fighter Biography
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training in 2001. I’ve always enjoyed fighting and this is a good way to do something that I enjoy.
What ranks and titles have you held? IFC 205 lb Champion.
Do you have any heroes? My dad. Randy Couture and Mark Munoz.
What is your favorite technique? The one that wins the fight.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? I can’t even put into words what it means for me to fight in the UFC. All that I can say is that come April 1st you are going to see a new and improved Tim McKenzie!! I am constantly going places to get myself the best training in the world and I am not taking this fight lightly!! This fight is a make it or break it fight for me, I am coming for Aaron and you can tell him hell’s coming with me, ha ha. But all BS aside, I am truly excited to finally be here fighting for the UFC, the biggest accomplishment for me this year. Now the next accomplishment is on April 1st. Just feeling the excitement before going into that cage gets me all amped up and ready to go. I’m looking forward to this fight and showing everyone who Tim McKenzie is!! Plus, I would like to thank my family for all of their support and being behind my wife and I getting this dream started. Without them this journey would be much more difficult. Just want to take the time and say thank you Mom, Dad Scott, Grandma, Grandpa, Kathy, Linda, and most importantly, my wife. Thank you so much for all the love and support you have shown me and for believing.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I have a degree from University of the Pacific in Communications.
What was your job before you started fighting? I was a landscaper.
