Training: A lot of wrestling, techniques and sparring

When and why did you start training for fighting?
Because fighting is in my blood. I started when I was 10 years old.

What ranks and titles have you held?
Black belt in jiu-jitsu. Three-time world jiu-jitsu champ, 2007 Abu-Dhabi world champion.

Do you have any heroes?
Wolverine

What is your favorite technique?
Chokes

What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC?
It’s the best moment of my career.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn?
I went to college in Brazil and I graduated with a degree in Nutrition.

What was your job before you started fighting?
Teaching Jiu-Jitsu and MMA

Most memorable professional fight (who, where, why)? The first fight against Fabio Alves (2004), in Brazil, cause it was new.

What was your most challenging professional fight (against who, when, what was the outcome)?
So far, this one that's coming.

Did you compete in any other sport(s) at college or professional level (what sport, where, how long)?
Judo, Jiu-jitsu, boxing, Muay Thai.

Who were your training partners for this fight? The partners from Constrictor Team in Brasilia, Brazil.

Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent (what did you do differently/why)?
Adjusting the training everyday and trying to get better in every style.

What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight?
The main motivation is to get ready to have a great fight.

The growing every day
