Fighter Biography
Training: Here at ATT we train 2 times a day very hard. I have awesome training partners.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training Jiu-Jitsu when I was 13 years old. I had my first professional MMA fight at 25. Now I’m looking to make my mark in the WEC.
What ranks and titles have you held? BJJ Black Belt
Do you have any heroes? All of my teammates at American Top Team. They are the best!
What is your favorite technique? Any kind of choke.
What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? It means everything to me. It gives me a chance to showcase my talents against the best 135 lbers in the world. I am more than ready for this challenge.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes, I have a degree in physical education.
What was your job before you started fighting? Teaching Jiu Jitsu
Most memorable professional fight (who, where, why)? Every fight is important to me. I train for every fight like it might be my last.
What was your most challenging professional fight (against who, when, what was the outcome)? There is no such thing as an easy fight. Every fight is a challenge.
Did you compete in any other sport(s) at college or professional level (what sport, where, how long)? Just Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling and Judo
Who were your training partners for this fight? Parrumpa, Chris Manuel, Brad Pickett, Mike Brown, Brian Eckstein, Ken, Jeremy and many more...these guys push me to the limit every day.
Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent (what did you do differently/why)? I’m doing a little bit of everything, training all the aspects of MMA, trying to be a complete and better fighter always.
What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight?I always use my family my teammates as a motivation; I want to show them what I am capable of doing.
