Fighter Biography
Training: Whenever I train I give it my best. I have been combining my training into MMA sessions that include all parts of the game.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training for fun at age 13. When I was 15 years old I took it seriously. At age 17 I fought amateur Muay Thai and Boxing matches.
What ranks and titles have you held? Southern Brasil Muay Thai and Boxing Champion
Do you have any heroes? Jesus
What is your favorite technique? Guillotine
What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? It's a dream come true after 10 years. It's not only my dream, but by fighting I am giving hope and the ability to dream to all the people around me.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No
What was your job before you started fighting? I played soccer, but I had to make a decision and I chose fighting.
Most memorable professional fight (who, where, why)? KO in the first round against Giovani Diniz at PFC3.
What was your most challenging professional fight (against who, when, what was the outcome)?
Against Luciano Macarrao when I broke my hand at the beginning and would still have to do the whole fight with a bad hand, but I ended up submitting him at the end of the first round.
Did you compete in any other sport(s) at college or professional level (what sport, where, how long)? No, just amateur soccer.
Who were your training partners for this fight? My last month of training I am going to be working with my new team of Nova Uniao and Andre Pederneiras.
Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent (what did you do differently/why)? My training gets better every time, because I want to be the best fighter in the WEC.
What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight? My motivation is to fight hard and never give up.
What is your favorite thing about this sport? I love MMA more than any other sport. It's a complete fight and very diverse - you can hit at almost any angle. I also like it because your opponent can't tell you he is better than you. He can be better at one thing, but you can rock him quickly with another discipline, in MMA you use your intelligence more than your muscles, so even a big and strong guy can lose to a much smaller guy.
How long do you see yourself staying in this sport? Fighting in the WEC has motivated me to fight for many years; I won’t give up until I accomplish my goal of having the belt.
