When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training 3 years ago. That is what I always wanted to do
What ranks and titles have you held? WEF super lightweight champion
Do you have any heroes? My mom
What is your favorite technique? Arm bar
What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? It’s an honor to fight in the WEC. It gives me the opportunity to fight the best 135 lbers in the world.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Cerritos Jr. College. Associates degree
What was your job before you started fighting? I was in college
How have the stakes changed now that you’re with the WEC? Fighting is fighting, but now I have the chance to test myself with the best of the best.
How has the competition level changed since joining the WEC? Now I’ll fight the best 135 lb fighters in the world…
Most memorable professional fight? I think all my fights are memorable - all fights have meaning
What was your most challenging professional fight? Don't know yet
Did you compete in any other sport at college or professional level? I wrestled in high school for three years and I continued in college for another three
Who were your training partners for this fight? Leonard Garcia, Sirwan Kakai, Lenny Lovato, and the rest of the lightweights that helped me
Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent? I didn't adjust anything, I just improved my overall game.
What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight? I love to fight, I’ve been fighting my whole life, and I love the competition - and the will to win.
What is your favorite thing about this sport? It's just you and your opponent and one guy is victorious
How long do you see yourself staying in this sport? Another 10 years or so
