Fighter Biography

Training: Run, punch, kick, wrestle, grapple, box, and some occasional cartwheels, then go to bed. Jackson/Winklejohn MMA, Parais Speed School (Diego Baca), and some Sigalas standup.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training to stay out of trouble and to get into shape.

Do you have any heroes?
  My parents and my teammates

What is your favorite technique?
It changes depending on my mood

What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC?
It is proof that I have turned the negatives into positives in my life.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn?
I am currently in college and two semesters from a B.A. in sociology.

What was your job before you started fighting?
Full-time student on probation.

Most memorable professional fight? In the WEC Feb. 2008 against Del Hawkins. I pulled my 3rd flying armbar in a professional fight, I was stoked.

What was your most challenging professional fight?
Ian McCall, my WEC debut in September 2007. I wasn't myself that night, but all props to Ian, he is a good fighter. But taking a loss after 18 straight pro and amateur wins was a hard pill to swallow.

Did you compete in any other sport at college or professional level?
My community college's Hula-Hoops Championships

Who were your training partners for this fight? Jackson/Winklejohn MMA speaks for itself. David Proa and Rich Chavez, upcoming BAD ASSES. Diego Baca for pushing me and Jackson, Winklejohn, and Mr. Sigala for pouring their fighting knowledge in me. Thank you ALL!!!

Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent (what did you do differently/why)? I train really hard and of course you train to beat your opponent; all my training camps are different and I can say I have never trained the same for this upcoming fight. What I did different is I slept in my Teepee in my front yard and rode a horse to practice and hunted and gathered my own food, LOL..HAHA.

What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight?
To pay some MO FO BILLS!!!!

What is your favorite thing about this sport?
I just have a pure love for it.

How long do you see yourself staying in this sport?
I’m treating it like flip-flops, one step at a time.
