When and why did you start training for fighting? In 2005 after watching the UFC through the 1990’s
What ranks and titles have you held? Blue Belt in BJJ
Do you have any heroes? My Grandfather Ray Godfrey
What is your favorite technique? Triangle Choke
What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? It is awesome. The WEC is the pinnacle of the sport.
What was your job before you started fighting? Heavy duty truck parts sales
Most memorable professional fight (who, where, why)? Rich Taylor in March of 2009 in North Dakota. Highlights from the fight were on hdnet.
What was your most challenging professional fight (against who, when, what was the outcome)? Fighting Rich Taylor at 145lbs - he was a monster.
Who were your training partners for this fight? Josh Usera, Josh Rosaaen, Jeremy Schunneman, Jonny Knutson, Kyle Davis, Adam Burley, Coy Sasse, Mike Huitema
Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent (what did you do differently/why)? I train the same for each fight because all the fighters at this level are so well rounded.
What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight? A good debut in the WEC
