Training: Work first, then run, train, run .

When and why did you start training for fighting? 1989. My father took me to my first boxing class.

What ranks and titles have you held? Up & Up Extreme Cagefighting featherweight Champ. Ranked #1 in HI

Do you have any heroes? Mom and Dad

What is your favorite technique? Striking

What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? Super Bowl of MMA for Featherweights

What was your job before you started fighting? Ceramic Tile Apprentice

Most memorable professional fight (who, where, why)? Most recent, Isaac DeJesus. Seemed to validate all my hard work.

What was your most challenging professional fight (against who, when, what was the outcome)? Matt Comeau. Dec 2007. Real tough fighter. Took a solid kick to the head and regrouped for tough decision win.

Who were your training partners for this fight? Alan Hinojosa, Zac Ilaraza, Keola McKee, Jacob Callos. My training partners at Peak Performance are as good as any fighters I fight in the ring. They push me hard and get me ready for battle!

Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent (what did you do differently/why)? I’m a striker. Period. I just stick with what works for me.

What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight? I do it for my family, my friends, for Maui, and for Hawaii.

What is your favorite thing about this sport? I love to compete and I love that it’s just me against my opponent. 1 on 1.

How long do you see yourself staying in this sport? Not sure. Trying to take it one fight at a time.
