Fighter Biography

Training: Every fiber of the body gets trained.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training back in 2003 out of my mom’s basement after watching UFC 33. For the most part it was a bet between friends that I couldn’t do it. Safe to say, here I am.

What ranks and titles have you held? Ring of Combat Champion

Do you have any heroes?
Dana White and the UFC, for putting MMA where it’s at today! The WEC for putting the lighter weight classes on the map, and everybody that helped me get to where I’m at today.

What is your favorite technique?
Whatever works!

What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC?
Train hard, train better than everybody else, because the eyes of the MMA world are on me when I fight.

What was your job before you started fighting? I worked at Lowe’s for a little bit. I quit to fight.

Most memorable professional fight (who, where, why)?
Tim Troxell, Atlantic City. That’s the fight I brought my friends and family to and the first time they have seen it up close.

What was your most challenging professional fight (against who, when, what was the outcome)?
Jeff Lentz, Atlantic City. Because of what I went though that week of the fight, and I won.

Did you compete in any other sport(s) at college or professional level (what sport, where, how long)?
No, I wish I did. Then again, I’m happy where I’m at.

Who were your training partners for this fight?
Brian Crenshaw

Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent (what did you do differently/why)?
Nothing too different, fights are always better when you train for the fight.

What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight?
This is where I want to be; this is the way to a better way of life for me. We will be here all day if I was to talk about what I’ve been though in life.

What is your favorite thing about this sport?
The respect that you, as a fighter, have to earn. And the only way you do that is by fighting the best out there. That’s why I’m fighting Brown. Not to make a name, but he is the ruler that I have to size myself up to.

How long do you see yourself staying in this sport?
As long as God blesses me to go on, and when I can’t go on, hopefully I can put my skill into a younger fighter to carry on.
